i decided i should hide away
Feb. 3rd, 2007 09:48 pmI swear, up until yesterday when I picked it up in Walmart and read the back, I thought One Night with the King was a movie about Elvis. I don't know what that says about me.
Likewise, I hadn't realized until yesterday that double-sided mattresses are apparently a thing of the past. I love the part where the mattress companies are citing this costing-cutting technique (padding on only one side of the mattress) as a marketable feature. Yes, you too can now own a little slice of luxury with this easy-care, "no flip" mattress. It's no flip because you can't flip it at all! So it's half as useful as it used to be, and we're still going to charge you just as much! Maybe we'll charge you more for this unique feature!
That, my friends, is marketing at its most revolting zenith.
On the upside, I fended off a million and a half scary furniture sales people (reminded me of a zombie flick, really) and bought my shiny new queen mattresses on the cheap at Big Lots. Viva la Discount Revolution!
