lyricalnights: (Miranda blah by The Clam)
Even though I missed his concert, Butch is still sitting pretty in my cd player. [livejournal.com profile] lillys_locket, [livejournal.com profile] thepsychicclam and I briefly considering beating up some teenies and stealing their tickets, but decided we couldn't be bothered that much. Both sentiments of which Butch would approve, I'm sure.

Instead we hung around Atlanta, ate sushi, bought used books and made stupid remarks and animal noises. A good time was had by all. It was nice to be back in the ATL; I could live here, if I could manage to land job that would let me both eat and keep a roof over my head.

Party on Saturday night started rocky, ended a fairly smashing success. All of my close friends were running late, so it was me, B, and two people I didn't know very well for about an hour. One chick was fine, the other started off looking cranky and only got more sour as the night progressed. I'm glad I was tipsy and busy orchestrating things, b/c she made one of my pals feel bad, and I would have gotten steamed if I had noticed at the time.

Once everyone was there, though, we had a lot of fun. Four bags of bottles to the recycling bins the next day fun. Yay for drunken library students! And we wonder why the profs give us funny looks...

I used my Borders' coupons this weekend to get Sorcery & Cecelia and A Northern Light. I'm looking forward to them after finishing my re-read of Scott Turow's One-L, which always makes me glad I didn't go to law school. One of my friends just started, and while I'm happy she seems thrilled with it, the idea gives me the shudders.

Just realized my Two Lines fic is due in, like, two weeks. Eep!
