my baby shot me down
Aug. 15th, 2004 10:53 pmArgh, my US women's gymnasts are breaking my heart; they started the bars strong but bobbled on the beam and the floor. No one likes the vault except the Russians. *sighs* Here's hoping they're just getting it out of their system before the team finals.
The Romanians, as always, are a joy to behold on the beam. They look like they belong up there, just prancing around on a four-inch strip of wood like it's a ballroom floor. *envies* Supposedly their team's in a bit of turmoil, but all I see so far is kicking ass and taking names.
/gymnast spam (FOR NOW! haha)
I love the Olympics. Other than football (soccer) and gymnastics, I don't really care who wins, but I love being able to turn on the television any time for three weeks and find something interesting to watch. Also, these people are gorgeous, in musculature if nothing else. It's like an art gallery in motion.
Spent quite a lot of this weekend slightly tipsy. Kahlua Mudslides and B52s, mmm. Rach, these are much better than that awful mix we had. Met several new SIS students; we're hoping to corrupt them young, mwahaha.
I made the mistake of stopping by McKay's today and went on a crazy cd binge. Got Kill Bill 2, Franz Ferdinand, Veruca Salt, Heather Nova, and Kill Hannah. Also, some funky-ass Mary Janes from Target.
I found out my sister is apparently planning late May/early June for the wedding. Wow. I have confidence in her decisions; she's a smart, sensible girl. Still, it's left me a little breathless. She's twenty, and in her junior year of a biochemistry degree (I believe). That's a lot to do in the next 9 months.
