bang bang, that awful sound
Jun. 28th, 2004 12:14 amSo, if it's possible, I think I'm going to drop my Indexing and Abstracting class tomorrow.
It would be very useful, and is actually pretty interesting, however: 1) I'm having a hard time dealing with the whole Distance Education thing, 2) the guy mumbles and I feel like I'm missing every other word, and 3) the syllabus is arranged on his website in such a way that I've missed several assignments because I didn't know they existed.
The sting of defeat is bitter, but I'm pretty damn worried about my grade. And, in a pinch, between the class I've already absorbed and the well-written textbook, I can stumble my way through the basics of both tasks.
Had a moment of sheer terror out walking today as I started thinking about how it's been almost a year since I moved here to start L School. In less than another year (here's hoping) I'll be a grown up with a Master's Degree and a job, and a lot of student loans, and the need for a place to live, and ...
well you get the picture. It's kinda daunting. Strangely alluring, but daunting nonetheless.
So, having done the scared bunny job post, here's two funny things to make amends: Hair Care for the Fashionable Geek (thanks,
sweet_n_spicy99), and tales from a Sassy Lunch Lady. I was in stitches.
