I'm watching the dueling scene from CoS...mmm, Snape...anyway, I'm wondering why they had the two Slytherins holding their wands in the opposite of way as the Harry and Lockhart, who hold theirs in the manner of a traditional fencing foil. I know it probably doesn't have any meaning whatsoever, but if it did, I wonder how dueling form is considered among different levels of wizarding society. Ok, wank over.
Also, having major issues with the handling of the Parseltongue sequence. I know they're going for entertainment value here, but the little things really would make such a difference, such as making Harry a little more surprised and a little less stoned looking when he all of the sudden lurches forward to hiss. Also, he seemingly knows he did something odd, but then says he had no clue that he hadn't spoken in English. I will NOT get annoyed at book to movie discontinuity, I will NOT get annoyed at book to movie discontinuity.
Before this I was watching Brassed Off, and I had no clue that its one of Pete Postlewaite's lines from there that Chumbawumba samples at the beginning of 'Tupthumping.' I actually couldn't ID where I had heard it before, but a review of the movie mentioned it and I went "OHH!" Great movie, BTW.

It's SO DAMN HOT I'm insane. Even though I love living in a warm climate, it totally sucks ass in the summer, especially in my unairconditioned dorm room. I just wanna peel off my clothes and wander up and down the halls naked. But people would probably complain. =)
I have been completely worthless all day. Nothing of redeeming value was done; I've watched a lot of TV, including rhythmic gymnastics (that bored), and read fanfiction. That's it. I wanted to take my sister to see Bend It Like Beckham, but she had already made other plans, and of course her friends that she's gonna see all summer are more important than her sister who might be MOVING TO TEXAS! Not that I'm bitter.
I stayed up last night reading Contemporary Magical Innovations, which I thought was good, but not great. It was funny and fairly creative, but for some reason it didn't reallt catch me, you know? By the end it felt like I was reading just to finish, rather than finishing and then noticing several hours had passed. I love the fics that make you lose track of time, especially multi-parters where you end of going "oh, just one more chapter won't hurt" until you notice the sun's coming up. I need more of those fics.
Also, I know I've done a different Happy Bunny quiz before and posted it, but this one is also funny, and it came from my awesome friend Beth, so nyah:

Apparently annoyance solves my parallel parking issues. I have been incapable of parallel parking on my college's main loop for about a month, and tonight when I went to try it, someone pulled up behind me so I couldn't. She did finally move, and when I, slightly pissed off, went to back in, I did it perfectly. Must be some weird mental thing,
It was a very surreal night. I went to a dinner party at the house of a woman I know from German class. She lives in a VERY nice neighborhood; me and my poor little Grand Prix felt quite outclassed. The dinner was lovely and I got to meet a interesting variety of people, as it was a combo of students, professors, and other friends of hers. We had the oddest, most random discussions, including but not limited to, Amsterdam, pot, gay rights, singing, roommates from hell, absinthe, and graduate studies. The only downer was the presence of a girl I really don't like (total ass-kisser), but all in all a very weird fun night.
For some random reason, I read the amount of Ron/Ginny fic today. I dunno, just one of those things. You know something I've never read? Twin/Ginny fic. I guess Ron and Percy are considered the "comforters" of the family, but I think I'd like to see a Ginny who gets a little wild'n'crazy and has some smut with the twins. Maybe I should write this. If anyone knows of any, pass it along, k?
