Ah-haha! I'm watching Helen of Troy and the guy playing Menelaus is Tom from Bridget Jones's Diary. Its too funny.

Almost as funny as my dog with cast on her leg, even though I feel really sorry for her. My dad hit her with a golfball. She's milking it for all its worth though, making eyes at my mom and getting rides in the wagon. She's limping around like a very small Peg-Leg Pete. =)

Ok, back to movie-watching. I usually get in trouble with these movies 'cause I'm a big stickler for accuracy and I love ancient history and have studied or just read a lot of Greek and Roman mythology. Also John Rhys-Davies is Priam...mental images combining Gimli and a Trojan king abound. Hee

Count Ademar from A Knight's Tale as Agamemnon. Nice. I'm liking Helen of Troy; they obviously put a little thought into making it more than just a generic action pic, which is pretty impressive for a TV movie. There's no Elecktra or Orestes, and I really wanted to see Achilles' mom dress him up like a girl, but still, minor points. I guess I'll have to tape either this or Midsomer Murders. Can't miss the Troy and Barnaby love, even for slimy Tom as a whiny king in a skirt, looking kinda like an emaciated Kevin Sorbo from his Hercules days.
