I wish for peace. ...no, wait, I take that back... I want it. I will it. I demand it. Not that it matters a !@#!@#%^ bit what I want.

Grr. I love my country, I still do, even though I'm not under any delusions about any kind of fucking god-given right to take what we want. That's utter bullshit, and it needs to end now. I've lost faith in our ability to govern ourselves as a nation and that makes me very sad, as economies of scale bloat us to the point that we've become a fucking juggernaut, rolling over anything in our path, and that extends to our own citizens as well as those outside of it.
Meh, I'm probably not making any sense, but I just wanted to get a little dissappointment and frustration off my chest before I go to work, finding ways to beg the government for money at a non-profit mentoring program for low-income girls. I can't even imagine the things we could do for these girls and others in need if we had even fraction of the resources this nation guided by a spoiled child will spend on a fruitless war that will kill many children exactly like the ones I'm trying to help. God save the world, please, because we need protection from ourselves.
Obviously, I'm back from vacation, and I promise to post a real entry later. =)
P.S.- A quote from one of my marketing texts (a fiction novel) that freaked me out with the truth behind it. From Alex Shakar's "The Savage Girl":
"In short, propaganda strove to create contentment. The purpose of American-style marketing, in contrast, was precisely the opposite. It existed to create discontent, to ensure that citizens were never happy. ...Thanks to marketing, American citizens were perpetually unsatisfied, goaded ever onward, ever forward, generating the American advantage, the drive that ensured progress, technological innovation, and a fully stimulated economy."
