Are you talkin' to me?

I feel really bad that I just got snappy on one of my few remaining mailing lists, but I really cannot abide unnecessary rudeness.

Someone made a fic search request for Something to Live For which is asked about at least once a week on both of my Snarry lists.

Someone else turned loose with this diatribe on how the original poster shouldn't just post a name. Now this is often what I think when reading fic searches, but there's really no reason to actually light into the poor unsuspecting soul.

Oh well, I think my days on the MLs are numbered anyway; they just get on my nerves for some reason. *mourns*

I thought that was weird, too. This Acyla person must be new to the fandom/pairing if she's unfamiliar with Something To Live For (and its constant "where-can-I-find-it" requests).

Sorry but without more information there's not a chance in finding
this story.

And then like 5 people posted a link to the fic on the list. *giggle*

People are funny.

I did... I was going to ignore it, but after the Acyla person's response, I couldn't not post.

Sure would be nice if "Something to Live For" got archived somewhere stable, though. Every time I bookmark it, it gets deleted.

The link I posted (which I think is to Vigilant Gryphon's website) is fairly stable, but a nice big archive location would be nice too.

I'm not sure... Foe Glass Reflections used to be at http://www.angelfire.com/ego/vigilantgriffin/snape/snape.html, but now that page says it's moved, but the page it moved to has disappeared. So I'm not sure there's any sort of an index at the angelfire site now, and I'm worried that one day whoever owns the site will clean it out.

You know, after all this griping, I've never bothered to download a copy. I think I'll go fix that.

Hmm, good point.

*toddles off to do the same*

Exactly. The only way I can put up with the constant requests for a handful of stories is to go "oh, they must be new to fandom/the pairing," but to have someone presumably just as new getting pissy is just wrong.

I was amused by the number of links that immediately popped up as well. *sticks out her tongue*
